Description

As a nursing team leader at CHCC, you will serve under the supervision of a unit coordinator/charge nurse. You will assess patient condition, perform treatments, pass medications and monitor the effects of treatments and medications. As team leader, you will also work closely with the unit coordinator to communicate with families and doctors and provide supervision, teaching, evaluation and close communication with nursing assistants.

Responsibilities
  • Receive and give communication reports to ensure a smooth transition between shifts and patient care.
  • Perform rounds of assigned patients, checking for presence, general condition, comfort, room condition and temperature.
  • Count and sign for scheduled drugs with the oncoming shift.
  • Pass medications and conduct treatments as ordered on Medication Administration Records (MARs). Assure adequate pain relief for all patients as needed.
  • Communicate with nursing assistants and provide guidance, education and supervision with daily duties. Assure resident safety; ensure care is provided following each patient’s individual care plan. Assist in the evaluation of nursing assistants as instructed.
  • Assess and report changes in patient condition to the unit coordinator, family, and doctor as appropriate.
  • Respond to patient and family concerns and requests in cooperation with other licensed nurses in the unit.
  • Supervise meal delivery within the unit, ensure assigned staff report to the dining room, and assist with meal service as assigned.
  • Ensure patient call lights are answered promptly.
  • Assist with the admission process; complete the bedside nursing assessment and any other forms as directed.
Qualifications
  • Current RN or LPN license in Washington state required.

  • Experience in long-term care nursing preferred.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Basic understanding of state and federal regulations pertaining to long-term care and the RAI process.

Base Salary
$35-$46.50 Per hour

RN: $40 to $46.50 per hour, DOE.

LPNs: $35 to $41.50 per hour, DOE.

Additional $4 per hour differential for night shifts. $2 differential for evening shifts.
