Because of the type of care we provide at Christian Health Care Center, our staff have the opportunity to spend a lot of quality time with many amazing people. It truly is a blessing for us to play such a part in so many lives on a day-to-day basis.
All of the people who live here at our Lynden skilled health care facility, along with their family members and loved ones, are the reason we do what we do.
Staff are sometimes asked about the best ways for people to show appreciation for CHCC staff members who’ve made a difference in their lives. People also ask how they can support programs at CHCC that have made a meaningful impact, such as our pastoral care and activity programs.
One amazing way to show appreciation is through a legacy gift. Gifts, no matter how small ($20 donations really do add up!), are always appreciated at Christian Health Care Center. Our foundation is carefully managed by the members of our board of trustees, who make funding decisions in accordance with long-range goals that meet the needs of rehabilitation patients and long-term care residents.
Here are some ways that charitable donations from individuals or corporations can help us care for the elderly in our community:
- Your donation can help address shortfalls left over after government agencies like Medicare and Medicaid cover the “basic care needs” of our residents and patients.
- Your donation can help CHCC offer educational support and training to individuals wishing to pursue careers in health care, thus helping to fight the massive nursing shortage throughout the U.S.
- Your donation can provide comfort items (clothing items, Christmas gifts, hospice care kit) to residents and their family members.
Financial donations to our Lynden nonprofit truly help CHCC deliver a higher level of care — it’s what we’ve been known for since our founding in 1956: “Providing skilled health care care with compassion and love in Christ’s name.”
