Here at CHCC, we respect the sacrifices made by veterans and their families in safeguarding our freedom. To honor veteran residents and staff—all are courageous individuals—we established a Veterans Wall of Honor to recognize those who are currently part of the CHCC community.
Veterans Day is observed Nov. 11 regardless of the day of the week on which it falls. The restoration of the observance to Nov. 11 not only preserves the date’s historical significance but also focuses attention on Veterans Day’s purpose: “A celebration to honor America’s veterans for their patriotism, love of country and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good.”
All veterans living or working at CHCC are invited to participate by sharing a photo of themselves in uniform during their service.
Send digital images to Emily at emooney@chcclynden.org. Prints can also be dropped off at CHCC or mailed to the attention of our therapeutic recreation department at 855 Aaron Drive, Lynden, WA 98264. Ideally, the print image you submit should be 8×10 in size, but smaller sizes will be accepted. Please only submit prints that you don’t need returned.
By participating, you help CHCC recognize the remarkable people who have served our nation, the heroes who have answered the call to serve and sacrificed so much for our freedom and safety. Their resilience and dedication remind us of the importance of service, courage and unity. To all veterans, we extend our deepest gratitude for your service and commitment. You inspire us to build a community grounded in respect and hope.
