As a dining room assistant at CHCC, you will help those we care for to get the nutrition they need to remain healthy and strong. CHCC will provide the training you need.
- Transport residents to and from the dining room.
- Prepare food for the elderly (such as cut meat) and serve beverages.
- Records food and fluid intake.
- Offer positive encouragement and friendly conversation to individuals during mealtimes.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Work experience in a related industry is preferred.
- Must be able to obtain a Dining Room Assistant Certificate (training provided by CHCC).
- High school diploma/GED is preferred.
- A Washington Food Worker Card.
- Able to lift and carry general supplies that typically weigh less than 20 pounds.
- Able to push residents in wheelchairs that typically weigh less than 200 pounds.
- Desire to work with the elderly population.
- Have a positive working rapport with fellow staff members, patients and residents.
- Able to create and maintain a comfortable, warm and friendly atmosphere.
- Able to verbally communicate in a pleasant, professional manner.
- Detail-oriented, excellent organizational skills.
- Able to be self-directed and work independently, but also function as a team member.
