At CHCC, we believe in celebrating the exceptional contributions of our team members. Each month, the Shining Star recognition honors individuals. These honorees exemplify dedication, compassion and excellence in their work, inspiring others and enhancing the quality of care we provide. CHCC is a premier skilled nursing center in Whatcom County because of their efforts.

Our non-nursing Shining Star is Josh F. (assistant administrator): Josh has filled several roles during his 13-plus years at CHCC, including CNA, t-rec, social services and chaplain. He now serves as assistant administrator after recently earning his administrator license.
The staff member who nominated him wrote:
“I would like to nominate Josh Friesen for Shining Star. He has taken on his new role as assistant administrator with an open mind and enthusiasm to learn. He is kind, approachable and truly cares about the staff and residents at CHCC. He leads with a positive attitude and is always brainstorming solutions to problems. We are lucky to have him on our team.”

We couldn’t agree more. Congratulations, Josh, and thank you for all you do.
Our nursing Shining Star is Tyson H. (RN): Tyson has been part of the CHCC team for nearly a year and has quickly become a valued asset. Coworkers shared the following:
- “Tyson brings so much joy and skill to CHCC. The residents speak so highly of him.”
- “Tyson goes above and beyond to help residents feel respected and valued.”
- “Tyson is a skilled nurse who helps elevate our licensed nurse team here at CHCC.”
Tyson, you are a Shining Star. Thank you for all you do and all you bring to our team.
